Collection: Thanksgiving Pre-Orders 2023

Please place your pre-orders for Thanksgiving week pickup here.  Thanksgiving pre-orders are due by 9 p.m. on 11/19/23.  All menu items are made of carefully sourced gluten-free, dairy-free & soy-free ingredients and made in our dedicated gluten-free kitchen. All menu items are also vegan except for the keto items that do include eggs, which are also sugar free and low carb.   Before ordering, be sure to read through this page in its entirety so that you understand our holiday pre-order process, including the refund, cancellation, & "forgotten order" policy HERE

Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for ordering from Wordsmith Bakery!

Our pie menu this year includes 3 gluten-free crust choices + a Keto/sugar-free/low-carb pie option:

  • Pecan Pie with Flour Blend of Sorghum, Brown Rice, Arrowroot & Tapioca Flour. This is my family's current favorite crust.  (gluten-free/vegan/soy-free/corn-free) The pecan filling is made with dates & maple syrup & carefully sourced Georgia grown pecans and the pecan halves on top are from a Missouri farm. 
  • Pecan Pie with Coconut Flour Crust (gluten-free/vegan/soy-free/corn-free/grain-free) This pie is suitable for Paleo/grain-free diet). The crust is coconut flour and arrowroot starch based with coconut oil. The pecan filling is made with dates & maple syrup & carefully sourced Georgia grown pecans and the pecan halves on top are from a Missouri farm.  
  • Pecan Pie with Oat Flour Crust (gluten-free/vegan/soy-free/corn free).  No oil is added to this crust or pie filling (the pan is oiled with coconut oil). No starch is added.  The pecan filling is made with dates & maple syrup & carefully sourced Georgia grown pecans and the pecan halves on top are from a Missouri farm.  This pie crust is made with certified gluten-free organic oat flour from Montana Free, which is one of the only oats providers recommended in the U.S. for those with Celiac and gluten intolerance. 
  • Derby Pecan Pie--Keto/Low-Carb/Sugar-Free--This pie contains carefully sourced Georgia grown pecans and the pecan halves on top are from a Missouri farm.  This is a great choice for anyone with diabetes or who is eating low-carb/sugar-free.  

We also have other goodies available, including keto/sugar-free/low-carb rolls:

  • Pull-Apart Yeasted Rolls (8-pk)
  • Pumpkin Cut-Out Sugar Cookies with Vegan Royal Icing (minimum 6-pack order)
  • Cornbread (made with non-gmo certified gluten-free corn meal from an Indigenous-owned company)
  • 4-pack of cinnamon rolls (you can easily reheat and then put provided icing on)
  • Artisan sourdough rolls.
  • Keto Sugar-Free Low Carb Rolls--these contain almond flour.
Pickup is available on either:
Tuesday, November 21st from 8 am-6 pm at our home or
5-6 p.m in St. Matthews in front of Louisville Ballet School on Shelbyille Road.  
OR

Wednesday, November 22nd 8 am -6 pm at our home OR from 4-7 p.m. in New Albany (likely on State Street at Target parking lot. You will be notified if I figure out a different location).  Alternate location in St. Matthews 4-6 p.m. (in front of Louisville Ballet School on Shelbyville Road. 

*We recommend eating pies within 3 days of pickup - pies picked up on Tuesday will be perfect for eating on Thanksgiving Day! Storage instructions below.*

STORAGE >>

 Pecan pies should be stored in their boxes on the countertop.  IF you decide to reheat the pie, cover the edges of the pie with foil before reheating.

The keto rolls should be kept in fridge, for up to 4-5 days.  

REHEATING CINNAMON ROLLS>>

 Reheat cinnamon rolls is in the oven. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of water over the cinnamon roll and add vegan butter, if desired. Cover the cinnamon roll in foil and cook at 350°F (180°C) for 10-15 minutes. Adding water prevents the cinnamon rolls from drying out.

REHEATING PULL-APART ROLLS>>

Our favorite way to reheat:  Arrange a rack in the middle of the oven and heat to 350°F. You may leave the rolls in the aluminum pan they came in OR place rolls in a baking dish or arrange on a baking sheet, brush with melted vegan butter. Bake until warm, 7 to 10 minutes.
